Dann hörst Du eine Stimme. Ein Mädchen. Ein Kind. "Mami?"

Der Wolf schaut Dir nach. Er lässt seine Rute sinken und schüttelt sich. Dann läuft er Dir nach.
Diese Lilien verströmen einen starken, schweren, süssen Duft. Er ist betörend.
Als Du Dich in die Blumen hinein fallen lässt, knicken sie unter Dir um. Die Staubgefässe werfen eine gelb-orangefarbene Wolke aus Pollen in die Luft.
Luni fängt an zu niesen und zu schnauben. Wieder und wieder wirft er seinen Kopf nickend und prustend nach unten.
Du schaust nach oben in den Himmel über Dir; er ist blau und fast wolkenlos.
Der Boden unter Dir ist weich und moosig.
Die Sonne scheint sanft auf Dich herab.
Die Luft ist angenehm warm und in diesem Bereich der Insel fast windstill.

Die Blumen zum Teil voll erblüht, die Blätter saftig grün und fleischig.
Ein betörender, süsslicher Geruch.
Sehr eindringlich; sehr betörend und angenehm.

Luni hat es eilig. Als Du mit ihm das Haus verlässt, springt der Wolf gewandt über den Zaun und verschwindet im Unterholz zwischen den alten, morschen Bäume.
Nach einiger Zeit taucht er wieder auf und läuft dann in Richtung Osten weiter, bleibt aber immer in Sichtweite.
In diese Richtung steigt die Landschaft leicht an, bis der alte Wald schliesslich endet und sich sanfte Wiesen vor Dir und Luni ausbreiten.
Die Farbe des Grases ist hell-grün bis gelblich, manchmal auch bläulich-grün.
Als Du Richtung Klippen weiter gehst, trägt der Wind Dir schweren, süsslichen Duft entgegen.
Luni läuft sofort interessiert in die Richtung des Duftes.

Edge of Darkness

SYNOPSIS:
A professor of ancient history and former mentor of the investigators is dying and they are called to his bedside. He asks them to settle a score with a horrible entity from beyond the bounds of this universe that lurks in an old farmhouse.
They receive a metal box with the deed to the house, a key, a sarcophagus-shaped gold box of ancient design, and a journal.
The professor was once a member of a student group interested in séances and ceremonies with candles and smoke, but without acceptable results. Things changed when they managed to get an old grimoire - the De Vermis Mysteriis. The group purchased a house and after many failures they finally succeeded in their experiments. The journal describes the final and disturbing ceremony performed in 1881, that summoned the nearly invisible and barely material entity from an alien dimension that the investigators have to banish now.
According to the journal the entity slew one of the students, and drove another mad. Fortunately, the group leader had had the foresight to carve various special warding signs over the doors and windows, binding the creature to the house. Alas, no details of the ritual are included in the journal. Moreover, the journal makes clear that the entity will be freed once the last member of the ritual dies. And, sure enough, the professor is the only surviving member!

SYNOPSIS:
One of the investigators lives next door to a mundane-seeming neighbor, owner of a successful import/export company. One night he observes his neighbour, parking and unloading his car across the street and walking up to his house. Carrying two items out of his car he walks to the front door where he drops one that appears to be a small arm, wrapped up in the canvas. The man looks around furtively, picks it up and disappears into his house.
A strange horror lives across the street. The man in the neighborhood has a dark past and some blasphemous hobbies of cadaver-theft, bizarre narcotic chemistry, and insane medical experimentation. The man's sanity is long gone, after an encounter with an avatar of Yog-Sothoth, which led to his becoming a servant of the entity, a course of events leading to the death of his wife, madness of a nurse, and a secret lurking in his basement. Using arcane skills and medical knowledge, he grows the Outer God's loathsome spawn, with agglutinations of body parts in improbable configurations. In addition, abnormal and monstrous plants fill his greenhouse and garden. The man is an engaging villain, who does not see himself as a villain, but if he becomes suspicious of the investigatory, he will use various toxins and subtle attacks to protect himself and his secrets.
Now the question is, how to destroy the horror in the house without attracting the unwanted attentions of the authorities.

The Crack'd and Crook'd Manse

SYNOPSIS:
The investigators receive a letter asking for help in locating a missing millionaire. Their investigation takes them to a crumbling manse with a strange and sinister history.
There are two tragic backstories to the house, but neither has any relevance to the main plot. They can be played up for creepiness or as specific red herrings, or sidelined. The monster is an offshoot of Shub-Niggurat. The missing man's books might contain further information on his travels, and clues to Shub-Niggurath worship in the area.
Actually defeating the monster in combat is possible, but very difficult: it can attack simultaneously throughout the house, flood the entire ground floor to prevent escape, retreat into the walls to avoid serious threats, and takes minimal damage from everything but fire and salt.
Clues and red herrings are liberally placed throughout this scenario, offering the GM means of helping newbies who get stuck or delaying vets who get too close to the truth too quickly.
Sanatorium, the
Location: New England
Creature: Creature from Another World
SYNOPSIS:
A brilliant medical doctor and founder of an asylum is an old friend of the investigators and invites them to visit his remote but beautyful island. His sanatorium is exclusive for patients from rich and well-known familes. They are here to keep them away from the prying eyes of the public and the press.
The doctor has tested several experimental psychotherapies and is known for a revolutionary new method of treating mental illnesses. Some of the results, published in professional journals, have brought him criticism by his colleagues, both scientists and psychiatrists. So, a few days visit with an old friend on a small island off the coast of New England seems like the ideal way for the investigators to relax, but not all vacations turn out as one would wish.
The misguided doctor used therapies inspired by the Castro Manuscript. But before the investigators could questions this method the doctor is dead. When they arrive all hell is lose in the sanatorium. The inmates are running the asylum. The doctor and the staff have been horribly murdered while all inmates are roaming free. And a homicidal maniac stalks the island with an axe, searching for sacrificial victims. A night before a patient of the asylum, bedeviled by voices has opened a gate with his own blood on the wall of his cell. Through this gate came the creature from his nightmares. A semi-solid being composed of luminescent bubbles. This creature feeds on life forms until it is ready to transform to its next stage of development. Because it is highly sensitive to sunlight and salt air, it needs a servant. This servant is one of the sanatorium's staff members, who went seriously insane when he saw the creature and became its slave. He is now stalking the occupants of the island as the creature seeks nourishment from his victims. The creature stays hidden until the investigators either seek it out or fail to find it before it gets a real nasty one after it is fat up.
Great scenario - highly atmospheric - MUST PLAY
Mansion of Madness

Another missing person case, this time involving the investigators with the Boston art scene, a decidedly unusual gangster, and an old house in western Pennsylvania.
The Old Damned House
in which the investigation of a jewelry theft introduces the players to an old family with an old house and an old secret. In some ways, this scenario is like a cross between "The Crack'd and Crook'd Manse" and "The Sanatorium", mixing the investigation of a creepy home with interactions between a whole cast of eccentric characters. Although reasonably satisfying, the adventure isn't quite as good as these earlier two, mainly due to slightly haphazard organization and a rushed finale. You'll probably get a few good sessions out of this one, but it may take a bit of extra preparation to get all the information you need at your fingertips and lead the story to a satisfying conclusion.

SYNOPSIS:
The investigators are called to Arkham after the death of an uncle one of them didn't know he had.
The investigators are summoned to Arkham to deal with the will of "Uncle Silas", an unknown relative of at least one investigator. It turns out they're not who they thought they were. Silas' family were the traditional guardians of four dangerous Mythos tomes, until his brother Darcus fell insane and killed all but Silas and the chosen investigator in an effort to seize them for his own purposes. Darcus has recently escaped from an asylum and is tracking down his brother.
The investigators clear out the junk-crammed, delapidated house and sell off most of it. Only then do they receive a letter from Uncle Silas which had gone astray in the lawyers' office, warning them about the books and Darcus. They must track down from the bookseller who purchased them, who is slaughtered by a star vampire in the middle of their conversation. The investigators attempt to survive the star vampire, recover the books, and defeat the mad uncle.

Eyes for the Blind

SYNOPSIS:
A gentle breeze wafts across Platform Five of Twyford Station. You wait for the ten o'clock train for Henley-on-Thames, for soon the Henley Royal Regatta begins. Attending the regatta is in high fashion, and patronized by royalty. Not only tremendously entertaining, the regatta is an important meeting-place of contacts, both business and casual. The train arrives bearing a single first-class car, as usual for runs during the regatta. Everyone files aboard, takng their seats, and the journey begins. Clacking rails pass below. A tunnel approaches, quiet darkness falls, and two men die - a blind man and a stockbroker.
A cabal of sorcerers, lead by a 450 year old wizard who lives with a gypsy fair, has plans to raise the Dulcarnon - the 'intermediary life-spirit of Britain'. Their plans involve the construction of an effigy called The Green Man, which will house a part of the spirit when it is awakened. The murder on the train is a part of these nefarious plans, and by investigating the odd deaths the investigators become drawn into a complex trail of clues across several different parts of Britain. The ancient wizard has an unusual magical ability: while his body is severely aged and frail, he can see through the eyes of any of an army of (apparently blind) zombie corpses which are slaves to his will. Thus, as the characters pursue their investigation they have an odd collection of mysterious blind men with tinted spectacles closely following their movements.
The scenario is suitable for vets only.

The Menace from Sumatra

SYNOPSIS:
A blind man dressed in rags stumbles into Hyde Park police station and expires in front of the investigators, but not before exhorting them to 'save Susan'. The strange blue vapour surrounding the man, as well as the fact that he possesses no eyeballs, compels them to investigate further.
On a recent expedition to the Western coast of Sumatra, a pair of British scientists discovered a strange blue fungus, associated with a Mythos god called Vibur. While one of the principals seemed to fall under the terrible influence of the primitive natives the other fled with his wife, afraid for their lives. They made their way back to London, but unbeknownst to them they were pursued by Granger with a contingent of cultists and their god. Ultimately these unpleasant forces captured the unfortunate scientist, infecting him with the terrible spores of the fungus. His wife managed to escape such a fate, but became amnesiac from the shock, and is still wandering the streets of London in confusion. The infected scientist, Windebank, ultimately escaped his captivity only to expire in the police station during the opening scene of the adventure.

SYNOPSIS:
Dorothy Amis, a relative or acquaintance of the investigators, has suddenly become 'bereft of reason' for no apparent cause. So bad is her condition that she has been confined to a private nursing home in Kent. Discovered huddled in an unfinished tunnel which forms part of the London Underground, questions have obviously been asked as to the circumstances behind her curious madness. It is up to the investigators to unearth the truth.
The previous attempt to summon the Dulcarnon - the 'spirit of Britain' - was thwarted in Eyes For The Blind, but not all of the cabal of sorcerers were defeated. David Smythe, a survivor, is trying once again to bring part of this mystical spirit into the world although in a less ambitious fashion. His plan involves channelling a portion of the Dulcarnon into a painter called Fewkes with the expectation that the artist will be able to both wield its power and form the template for an army of beings under Smythe's control. Unfortunately, the initiation of Fewkes was witnessed by Dorothy Amis, whose sanity was so shaken that she was confined to a nursing home. In the meantime, Fewkes' body has been moved to Cornwall and his mind and soul are imprisoned somewhere in the Dreamlands.
